Liberace’s Capodimonte-Style Tureen

This massive, spectacular tureen is the perfect example of the flair & flamboyance that helped to propel the consummate showman beyond superstar status to that of a pure legend in the entertainment industry! This impressive, beautifully crafted Capodimonte-style covered, two-handled tureen features an oval form, very deep relief molded figures in bright, colorful Bacchanalian scenes with mask & swan for handle, gilt edges, flourishes, & highlights. Measures 17” tall x 18” wide x 9.5” deep. rnOne side panel depicts a seductress unsuccessfully attempting to distract a shepherd from his flock. The other side panel is a scene of a woman clad in a red dress, surrounded by servants & cherubs, followed by musicians, singers, children, & cherubs. The lid consists of a young woman surrounded by singing & musician cherubs.rnThis item was originally sold during the Liberace Collection Auction conducted by Butterfield & Butterfield & Christie’s, held in the Los Angeles Convention Center April 9th-12th, 1988. Item is listed on page 195 of the official auction catalog, Lot 1708. Original catalog will accompany this item. rn*There is a very minor chip in the edge of the lid which is not even noticeable when the lid is in place on the tureen.

Liberace Cigar Ashtrays, Lighters, and Wall Hanging

Two Heavy colorless glass cigar ashtrays made by “Krasnodar” of Poland. Both Ashtrays still have the manufacturers sticker, Liberace logo stickers, & Liberace Estate Auction Lot Tags attached. Also included in this lot are 3 cigar lighters - (1) gold tone Colibri lighter, (1) red Nesor brand lighter, (1) white Nesor brand lighter. All three lighters function & still bear the Liberace logo stickers. The final item in this lot is a framed photograph of a winter skiing scene that has the Liberace logo sticker on the front with original estate auction lot tag on the back. All items were originally sold by Butterfield & Butterfield & Christie’s in April 1988 and were included in lot 601 on page 71 and lot 2246 on page 250 of the official catalog. Photos of those pages will be included as provenance.

Set of 4 Silverplate & glass coasters originally sold by Butterfield & Butterfield w/Christie’s in April 1988. These were included in lot 601 on page 71 of the official catalog. A photo of which will be included as provenance. Also included in this lot is a vintage VHS featuring a 30 minute show from 1954 starring “Liberace & His Family”.
